I ordered the first one and it had glitching every second or so. I emailed the Amazon Seller and told them the problem I was having and they replied, it was defective. They asked for the order number and I sent it to them. Did not get any more responses to my email after that.I went to Amazon and did a replace item request and they approved and had another adapter sent out that same day for a 1 day delivery.Received it today and it works. When you rotate your phone from horizontal to verticle or vice versa, it blacks out for a couple seconds but comes back fine. When it does start up from black, the audio doesn't come back unless you hit volumn up or down. It does work fine after that. Using my other USB-C to HDMI adapter, that doesn't have the power inserter, it works fine with no glitches and audio does not drop out. The new one does work fine, with good quality, after these couple of extra steps.

It works good but, it doesn’t charge well, when I plugged my Nintendo switch it was at 100% battery life after playing 2 online match games just to try it out, the battery went down to 92%

This adapter works very well, the only thing was my phone case kept it from plugging in to me S9,however with a little trimming to the case it fits perfectly now. Wish it plugged straight into the phone instead of the 90 degree angle on the adapter.

I purchased 3 of these after trying a few different types of USBC to HDMI, this was the best by far, its compact, and it works with my Samsung Galaxy Note 9, and my Nintendo Switch, so it is 1 connector, that will work with both of my devices, they are such good value, I bought 3 so I can leave them connected to different displays in my home. 1 of the 3 was working only with my phone, I contacted the seller and they replaced it with a fully working unit, so now all 3 units work with both my phone, and Nintendo Switch. You must use the proper Power Adapter in order for the Nintendo to work correctly, I use an Anker 60W Power Delivery Adapter, as well as the factory Nintendo Switch adapter, and both work perfectly. EXCELLENT product, cant recommend this enough for those in need of a solution like this (pain to carry around a Switch Doc, or a Samsung DEX unit, this tiny adapter, fills both rolls)

Product doesn't hold a sound connection. USB port constantly loses connection resulting in hdmi losing signal. Only used it one time before it started giving me problems. Not happy with product at all.

We live in the sticks where you can't get 'home internet'. We tried using a mifi hot-spot, which worked, but we ran out of data (on what we thought was an unlimited plan) after streaming 3 movies. Verizon explained that our cell phones have unlimited data, but whenever we use a 'hot-spot' the data is limited. So, I found this lovely gadget and can now mirror or extend my phone to the home TV. We have successfully watched hours of Netflix, with pretty good clarity, while keeping the phone charged - definitely a plus! No complaints at all!

Sometimes it disconnects

I had bought this specifically for my Nintendo switch. I was bummed out since the first one I received didn’t work well but when I contacted Fionex and their team, they were happy to troubleshoot it and send me a new one at no charge. This a great product if you want to project onto a bigger screen or monitor!

I originally bought this device for my Samsung Galaxy S9+, to play video or games and charge at the same time. DeX was detected, can confirm it works. Works as intended. I had experienced some hiccups with watching Netflix, sometimes it would stop working or freeze during the movie, so if you plan on using this for a lot of Netflix then your experience might not be great. Note, this device won't get around HDCP. Also works well with the Nintendo switch as well, which was a surprise to me as I didn't know this device supported it when I originally bought it. A note for operation with the Switch, plug in HDMI and power into the device before plugging it into the Nintendo Switch. If you do not do this, the Nintendo Switch will not like and you will need to hard reboot the Switch. This only happened to me once, but it did scare me. Fortunately, the Switch was not affected. Build quality is excellent, with a solid metal exterior for the main body and braided stiff cable which seems durable. Not easily bendable though but this is not a problem for me, and I find it ensures the durability. The USB C port is tight and secure. Overall it's a quality product.

This thing has been great. My kids lost their stand and I didn’t want to replace it because it’s somewhere between here and their nans, not wanting to pay to replace the stand knowing we’ll find it I looked for one of these. Most weren’t compatible with Nintendo Switch and the ones that were, are quite expensive. Until I found this one. Great price point and works perfectly. The picture quality is no different than using the original stand, you can play while it charges as well, and it’s way smaller than dragging the stand around anyway. I’m quite happy with the purchase. I like the Switch because it’s small enough it isn’t a hassle if they wanna take it to nans. Now with this, everything we need fits in their handheld case so that’s a win for parents !! You won’t be disappointed in this purchase

UPDATE:The dongle didn't work initially because I didn't realize that the power adaptor for my USB-C cable was actually only 30W. The Switch needs around 37W or 40W for the Dock function to work. Bought a more powerful adaptor and now it works perfectly. Not the fault of the dongle itself at all.USB-C was supposed easy, but with devices now , it's actually more complicated that it initially appears.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------OLD REVIEW BELOW:Got this because of the reviews that said it would work with the Switch, but it didn’t work for me. Worked with my MacBook fine, but not the Switch, which was what I wanted it for.Tried the advice for hard rebooting, disconnecting controllers, but no luck.

Beware that it does not seem to pass "generic" USB-C power, but only PD devices. It's OK, it has never been advertised otherwise. The reason why I am saying this is that the MacBook Air is compatible with virtually any power source. Your usual generic 5V USB works fine with a USB-C adapter. I can charge the MacBook from a USB port on another computer, from a power bank, from a TV or my car's usb connector. But this "generic" power does not pass through this HDMI adapter. Genuine 15V PD and 20V PD is OK though.

I bought it for my S10 phone to try out DEX and it works flawlessly to display on my TV and also to charge the phone with a USB cable attached. It seems high quality hard plastic. It also works with my son's Switch to display onscreen as well.
