Great Stirling engine for the price
This is a solidly built engine with a smooth operation. My fiancé is very happy with it. The size of the placement circle for the cup is smaller than most of our cups but given this is for pleasure not purpose that is not important for us.

What a fun and delightful little machine!
The machined-look gives the impression of a high quality, elegance. There’s no plastic. No assembly required. I put a cup of water in my microwave, brought it to a full boil. Then I set the little Stirling engine on it, waited for thirty seconds and gave it a little nudge. It started right up and ran for over twenty-five minutes! It makes me smile to see the little thing running! Since I live at over a mile high, water boils here at around 200 degrees Fahrenheit instead of the 212 at sea level so I thought maybe the little engine might not run very long, but I was wrong. As I said, it ran for over twenty-five minutes right out of the box. I’ve been showing it to every visitor to my house and they all love it. If you like mechanical gadgets and quality-made stuff, you’ll love this elegant little machine!

Very well made for the price.
Nicely machined, all structural parts were aluminum or steel. My first reaction was it must be made of die cast zinc alloy because of the low price (I paid well over twice the price for a Kontax Sterling engine), but no, there is no zinc in the assembly. Works very well, just boil a cup of water, put the engine on top, and it will start turning after a few seconds with just a little push (it only turns in one direction). It will last quite some time before it cools down enough to stop, probably 30-60 minutes, depending on ambient temperature and size of the cup. Great to teach the principals of the Sterling engine to young people, or just a neat desk ornament.

Very COOL!
It is very cool! I placed it on top of a small thermos and it ran for over an hour before started slowing down and finally stopped about half an hour later.

High Quality Product!
Work Nicely right out of the box. I used a ceramic cup and heat the water to boiling point (microwave) and this machine ran 44 minutes 49 seconds. I'm very please with my purchased. However, it won't operate with a cup of hot coffee if the coffee not near the hot water boiling point cause of all quality heavy duty built material. So, if you want a machine that operate at lower temp point then you should looking into the older cheaper version machine.

A good buy.
A great novelty toy for home, work, or to teach science. It will keep your tea hot while it steeps by reducing heat loss on an open mug. Made in China, but it is well put together. I have used it several times with no issues. If you get bored with it you can always donate it to your local school science department.
