Helped me "Get it"
I have never been a fan of pop art because I did not get it at all. But this book helped me understand how it fits into society, the role the artist is trying to play, and why are is a reflection or commentary on society - not just an exercise in accurate visual reproduction.

A must read for Pop Art lovers
Great book. Well illustrated. Gives a very complete and encompassing overview from the origins of Pop Art through its development and many permutations. A great deal of space, two chapters, are devoted to Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol as founding fathers, helping the reader to understand their art with respect to their personal lives, expectations, and disappointments.

An excellent overview
Very small print to read, but a solid overview of the entire pop movement, from it's British ancestry into its boom and eventual utter ubiquity.

This is a great overview of pop art
This is a great overview of pop art, which is often overlooked. Pop art doesn't begin and end with Andy Warhol. There are many great artists that have worked with the idea of popular art. The author does a great job of keeping the reader interested and curious.

Pop art is here to stay!
Throughly enjoyed reading this concise and enjoyable book on pop art. Found the UK origins to be informative and the post Warhol years of pop revelatory. If you like pop art this book is a must.

I needed a book for my brother-in-law who have a large collection. This was one he did not have and he loved it.

Comprehensive and beautiful.
For anyone interested in the movement this is as comprehensive as it gets. Not only does it trace its evolution around the western world, it offers a fair bit of insight on each artist and his/her motivations. If you want a detailed analysis of a fascinating movement within the context of modern and post modern art this is the book for you! Furthermore the reproductions are top notch and widely representative!

Dig deep into pop
I wrote and deleted an earlier review that was hasty in its assessment of this rich, informative, and insightful summation of the pop art movement. It's an excellent read.
