Couldn't wait to get this in the mail!
I LOVE the "Made easier" series. David Ridges insights are very thought provoking and make it easier to apply what I'm reading to today's world. It's incredible how often history repeats itself with each generation from Biblical times to now making the same mistakes one way or another and having to learn from them the hard way. Anyway, I look forward to getting each new book I receive from this series and almost can't put it down until I've read through it to get answers about passages that didn't make a lot of sense. The same is certainly true for the Book of Revelation. I'm going to go read now...

Very Helpful Guide to Revelations
I found Brother Ridges' book very helpful in my study of Revelations. The commentary and addition of the passages from the Joseph Smith translation made it much easier to grasp the meaning of John's vision.

Truly, this books makes studying Revelation easier.
I own and have read several of David Ridges' commentaries on scripture. I enjoy his conversational tone, it's almost as if I'm sitting in his classroom and can hear him explaining things to me, verse by verse. This book in particular makes studying a difficult-to-understand book in the Bible much easier to understand. I also appreciate how the author invites the reader to ponder what is read and to learn by the Spirit. This would be a very helpful book for anyone who wishes to learn more about the last days and/or is responsible for teaching others about the Book of Revelation.

What?! Expected much better!!!
I wanted to give the book the rating of only one star. In several instances the book came close to the meaning yet failed to finish connecting the dots, and in other places didn't even come close: I am not a know it all and Mr. Ridges may have gotten some things right that I'm lacking knowledge in I therefore gave the book two stars. The main problem I have with this book is if it gets wrong what I do know, how do I know what he is getting right with what I don't know?Example: Chapter 12:1 reads as followed...1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman (the true Church, see JST, verse 7) clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet, (symbolic of beauty and glory), and upon her head a crown (symbolic of power to bring exaltation to true followers of Christ) of twelve stars (the Twelve Apostles).Ok here is what I see that is wrong, clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet means so much more than just (symbolic of beauty and glory). It means the Church is clothed in celestial glory because it is God's Church not man's. All faithful members of this Church will also be clothed in this same glory. "The moon under her feet" also has meaning here that the book missed. The moon represents man made religions, the terrestrial kingdom compared to the sun for things celestial and the glory there of. The moon is placed below the woman indicating the Church of God is above all man made religions. The book also missed the point in regards to the crown of twelve stars upon the woman's head. It failed to connect the crown symbolic for power, authority, leadership, and governance with the stars, the apostles. It is important to note the crown made up of twelve stars, the apostles, who holds all the keys to the priesthood, leads and governs the Church. The true Church of God can not be found without them to lead and direct the dealings of the Church. In 12:15-16 is some more examples of how the book fails the reader. Here is what is written...15 And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman (symbolically, just as flood waters reach and get into everything in their path, so also Satan tries to get to us from every angle), that he might cause her to be carried away of (destroyed by) the flood. The author missed the point that Satan is the father of lies. It is true Satan will flood the earth with all manner of evil and sins, but what is important to note here is the flood is lies, false doctrine and teachings and half truths. The reason that this needs to be noted becomes clear when one reads verse 16. Moses 7:62 states "...truth will I cause to sweep the earth as with a flood,..." as God states He will sweep the earth with truth as with a flood so shall Satan flood the earth with false hoods

Best ever study guide.
It's been my good fortune to know brother Ridges, as my stake president, in Springville, Utah, long before he embarked on his prolific writing endeavors. His personal approach is so humble I still find room for my own inspiration and insights from The Spirit as I study along. He brings the scriptures alive and exciting such that it's all I can do to move on in my day to other tasks. Thank you brother and teacher.

excellent - really helpful
Sometimes the commentary, verses of Revelations and verses from other scriptures are rather jumbled together, but reading slowly and carefully gets round the difficulty.
