Helped our minivan grow with our growing family
Our family includes three young children and another on the way. When that's combined with multiple long trips throughout the year, packing our minivan has become something of an art form. Especially when we bring bikes, bike trailers and other such outdoor-adventure goodness, as we did on a recent beach vacation.Anticipating a lack of space for said vacation, I researched (at length) and then purchased one of these Rightline Gear car top carriers. (The Sport 2 fit perfectly on our 2007 Kia Sedona.) This was THE perfect product for our needs and is thoughtfully designed.Pros:* Very easy to install and remove - which we did many times on our trip. I tested out attaching it once before our trip just to be safe, but it's really very simple. Friction does just about all the work.* Remarkably compact when folded & rolled up for storage in the included sack. (The sack itself contains the instructions, which was a brilliant move - won't lose them that way! And they appear to be water-resistant too.)* Lots of space! There's no way we could have fit everything we needed inside our minivan, so this carrier saved the day. And because this is a soft-shell model, we were able to fit in oddly-shaped items while still being able to close it just fine.* Completely waterproof - we were caught in several downpours on our trip but everything inside was totally dry when we arrived.* The carrier feels very durable. I think this will last us a long time.* When packed well there is little-to-no wind noise. And even when I didn't pack so well, the noise was minimal.* It's really nice-looking. A number of people commented on it and asked where they could get one.* Excellent customer service (see the first con below.)Cons:* On the third or fourth time we opened it up, the velcro on the back of the carrier tore off. It didn't seem to damage the carrier itself, nor is the velcro necessary for remaining waterproof. (The final rainy leg of the journey proved this.) Still, I contacted Rightline Gear afterwards and they were quick to send me a replacement carrier.* This really isn't the carrier's fault, but you can't [practically] load the carrier BEFORE putting it on your car. That's important because if it's raining WHEN you need to load up, there's nothing to be done to keep your things totally dry. (This happened to us at one point.) I don't think much could be done about this problem though, so I only mention it here as an FYI.Pro tip: Don't try climbing up and down on your car to load this thing yourself. Get a friend to hand you stuff and your life will be much easier. Especially if the car is wet!So stop reading reviews and just buy the thing. You'll be glad you did.

Just what you need!
My [extended] family spends a week together at the beach every summer, it's usually a really good time. Because there's usually a ton of us--many of which are children and their friends--my wife and I usually bring separate vehicles so we can bring extra stuff and have another vehicle while we're out there. At any rate, this year we had some minor problems with my wife's SUV just before we were to leave, and suddenly we had less than two days to figure out how to get four of us (and a week's worth of gear) all packed into my Toyota FJ. I love taking my truck to the beach, but it just doesn't have the room for this sort of thing. Yikes! No stores local to me stock this sort of rooftop bag, and I wanted to make sure I got something I could actually use (hopefully more than once, right?). I took a chance and ordered this product, next day, through Prime. It arrived, packaged well, as promised. It's super easy to understand what's going on with this thing, and it really was a breeze getting it in place and filling it up.The bag is waterproof, lightweight, and seems to be fairly tough. I tied it down to my roof rack with [my own] ratchet straps, and found the 'D' rings on the outside of the bag made it very easy to tie down snugly. Honestly, I doubt it shifted a single inch during the 250 mile trek to the beach. There was very little wind noise, and it had no effect at all on the handling of my truck. If you're careful how you load it, you really can put A LOT of stuff in there.Unloading was super easy as well, and the whole things rolls up and fits neatly into the supplied storage bag. This thing saved my tail, I mean that. It's hard to believe that something as goofy as a bag made such a tough situation laughably easy! The only downside to it I can think of is that because it's black, it gets really, really hot... so you might want to consider that when you're figuring out what you want to put in there. Also, I could see some of the velcro strips not lasting too long, but that won't really affect much, just won't look as neat is all. There may be plenty of these cargo carriers out there that are better, I'm not really an expert when it comes to giant bags you strap to your roof! For me personally, I would buy this again in a minute, super happy!

Good quality, held up nicely under pouring rain and on the highway at 100km/h
Bought this for my family camping trip this year as the trunk space was not enough to fit all the camping gear. This was a more economical option to a hard top carrier as I would only use it a few times per year.Pro- good price compared to a hard top carrier- it folds well and comes in a small box. Good for storage and doesn't take up a lot of space- good quality and the material feel durable- used it in the rain. Was skeptical at first with its waterproof ability so I place a tarp inside the carrier and also put my sleeping bags/tents in plastic bags. However, it stand quick well against the rain as the inside was completely dry. The water didn't get in through the zippers either.- I used the straps that came with the carrier to tie it to the roof rack rail on my SUV. The straps were quite strong and had no problem holding the carrier down even driving at 100km/h on the highway.Con - nothing really. The zipper can get a bit tricky to close around the corner.I highly recommend this carrier. I did use it with a anti-slip layer under it to prevent it from sliding on by cars roof.

Great purchase, totally satisfied!
I'll start with the negative: the included straps went straight into the garbage. Go to Canadian Tire and buy two of their red ratcheting straps and you're good to go.This bag totally exceeded my expectations. I was expecting cheap backpack material, but it's very solid. I have no idea why there are all the negative reviews saying that the bag fell off or was torn to shreds by the wind...well maybe because they didn't have the thing snugly filled or if they used the plastic loops as tie-down points. We used the optional sticky pad, and this thing didn't move a single inch on our roof.We kept the speed mostly around 90km/h (which is tough, but better safe than sorry) and bumped it up to 105 a few times with no problem. It was a dry trip so I can't speak for its water resistance but I don't think it would be a problem. The zipper looks solid and watertight.A little hint: load this while it's already on your roof. It's a bit of a pain in the butt, but it's also really difficult to lift the fully-loaded bag. Especially if you're using the sticky pad because it will NOT slide on that thing. All in all, I look forward to using this carrier on all our future camping trips...until we get a van.

Buena calidad 👌
Resistencia, calidad y estética, solo que cuando llueve las correas absorven el agua y la filtran hacia el interior del automóvil.
