Good product

I installed this in my mask on the right side. It is unobtrusive for me. Hardly notice it once you get on with the dive. When you need to read your tank gauge or watch or computer just position it in front of the lens. Not included is the silicone adhesive, which you can order or buy locally. When installing it make sure the inside of the nask lens is clean and dry. Put a VERY small dab on the magnifier lens. Place the magnifier on your finger and place your dive mask over your finger, that way you won't accidently drop it in your mask at the wrong place and make a mess. Once it is stuck to the mask lens, turn it over and place it on a hard suface like a table with a towel on it (to prevent scratching your mask) and position the magnifier exactly where you want it. Hopefully you were very close within a millimeter or two. Press down (without any sideways motion) VERY firmly until the silicone sguishes to the outside perimeter of the magnifier. You may have to press a little off center to even it out. If you used too much silicone it push out past the magnifier. If so, wait until it is dry (24 hours) then be real careful not to scratch your mask and remove the excess with a tweezer. Hopefully there will be no excess. A smaller amount is better as it will spread out if you press hard enough just don't push out you mask lens! The thinner the silicone the better the optics.I can't notice any distortion. I pushed very hard with a dab about the size of large BB, about the size of a pencil eraser, roundness not the length. It is hard to get too little, just keep working the pressure. If you mess up pull off the magnifier and wait 12 hours to clean it up. It will be a mess if you try to clean it up right away. Don't attempt to clean off the finger prints until it is completly dry, 24 hours. 10 dives later it is still on there.

Don't recommend

There is no glue nor installation template included with the product. You must guess what silicone glue to use and then _where_ to install the lens and then - how to clean up the area contaminated by "gluing" process. All the above - to discover that the only thing you may use it for - it's to view your computer when it's held up closely to the lens. The lens itself obscures your field of vision when you swim by making that [huge] area "blurred".Again:- almost impossible to clean excess of glue around lens area without scratching the mask;- blurred normal swimming field of vision;- in order to view the computer one must hold it up close to the lens - almost useless when you have a dive plan and must follow it; you cannot every few minutes bring up the computer close to your eyes; if I could do that - I'd not need the lens in first place;- literally impossible to remove the lens after I've understood that my precious mask has been almost ruined.I'm PADI's MSD currently being trained for DM.

I can read my dive computer now !

This magnifier works well, I can read my dive computer now.One lens is all you need. Just install it near the bottom left of your dive mask. Bob

Perfect SCUBA mask solution

I needed a reading lens in my SCUBA mask so I could read my dive computer display. After cleaning all with alcohol wipes, I glued this lens on the OUTSIDE face of right-hand glass of my mask, locating the lens at the bottom of the glass like a bifocal (which it kinda is). The flat face of the magnifier lens goes against the mask glass. I used LOCA glue (separate purchase) and also used a UV flashlight (separate purchase) to cure the glue. Cure only takes 3 minutes. (LOCA glue is the same glue as use to anchor the front glass on smartphones.) Previously I had tried a +2.5 diopter magnifier and it was a sad failure. THIS lens works GREAT! - I can clearly see the display - Woohoo! Just for info, I discovered with the first (failed) attempt that it IS possible to peel the lens off and scrape off the (cured) LOCA glue, if you don't like installation. The cured LOCA glue resembles cured silicone glue. In retrospect, the only thing I might change is that I might have used fine sandpaper to trim the top of this lens a bit (to give more distance viewing area) but I won't bother with that now. If you need a SCUBA mask magnifier lens, I recommend THIS!

Poor design

Two problems: 1 - circular shape makes it difficult to place lens low enough to clear normal line of sight - today's low volumne masks have minimal glass area - product should come in half moon shape to better fit modern face mask2 - focal length of lens is very short - objects more than six inches away are out of focus - requires holding gauge ridiculously close to maskI prefer Dive Optx inserts, they are not permanent but allow for normal reading glass depth of field and they are shaped to stay out of level line of sight.I chipped the Trident lens out of my mask shortly after installing it. I will say that the glue works great.
