I was very pleasantly surprised by this little mower!
I have a larger reel mower that my children are always wanting to try to use. It's too big for them, so it's a struggle. This mower is perfect! Even a 4 yr old can push it with ease (closely supervised of course). It's light enough that a child can pick it up and move it easily. My children say it's like pushing air because it is so easy to push. I can push it with one hand and find it very easy to maneuver for mowing closer to objects in the yard. I like that the handle has enough leeway that a small child can push it as well as an adult without needing to adjust the handle height. The instructions said that it was preadjusted, but it would not cut right out of the box. I had to adjust the blades, which is very easy to do. Once adjusted it cut even thick grass like a hot knife through butter. The cut path is only 8 inches, but it's the perfect width for a child or to mow in tight spaces. The assembly instructions could be better, but assembly was easy enough even without the instructions. It's just a few bolts with washers and wingnuts. No tools are required. It took less than 10 minutes to put together and adjust the blades. It really is a great little mower.

I could not push this very good looking little push mower through my grass.
Very well made. Easy to put together. But my grass is thick and I couldn't push it through. The edges of my yard can be missed so this looked like a great answer. Because it is also to be used by children the blades are not sharp. Safe for a child. Too bad for my needs.

Doesn't cut well.
I bought this to cut in small areas and around a small creek bank. I love the small size of this mower, but the blade (even after adjusting) doesn't seem low enough to cut well. The handle also keeps coming off when the mower is lifted a certain way. I have the bigger version, which I love, but am disappointed in this one.

Almost didn't buy due to bad reviews - but it's perfectly decent!
I agonized over buying this because of the bad reviews. Yet, other products from this same company had glowing reviews. It seemed to me if they made many good reel mowers, this one should be good too. A few good reviews did exist. I'm glad I gambled on it - because it is a perfectly functional and decent little reel mower! IThis mower is perfect for my needs: to have a small non-powered lawn mower that I can use myself (weak) to keep tiny sections of the lawn tidy. It isn't for the big part of the property - but areas about 6'x10' ... another 10'x10'... and a few areas near some planters. These are areas the riding mower causes trouble (actually, it's the wild driver). So I needed to be able to do these sections myself, but physical problems limit my strength, cause me to get injured easily, and tire me out quickly. I knew the 14" 18" or 20" models would beat me to a pulp and I'd fail. But this unit being just 8" wide seemed like it might not kill me. :-) I'm only 5' tall - so child size is about right.Don't get me wrong, this mower is still hard for me at times, some parts of the lawn where the grass is thick/dense and lush are like mowing against an opponent pushing back against me. Yet, in the shady areas where the grass is less dense, I can push it easily. It cuts grass, clover, dandelion greens, and quack grass for me just fine. It missed some dandelion stalks that were old and tough - but so did the "real" mower. Some of what I cut was quite tall but the mower did it.I'm so thrilled I can actually cut some grass myself and not have to rely on someone else. I do need to take breaks and do small sessions for my own limitations, but I can do it. (When I read one person said their 5 yr old child can use their 14" reel mower, I realized that 5 yr old could probably whoop me!) The only drawback I see is that you can't get right up to a wall because the wheel width stops you from cutting that close. Oh well - better than not being able to mow the area at all! Hand sheers are still needed to trim.As of today, May 2021, this listing is sold by and shipped by the manufacturer. Maybe the lemon reviews came from a shoddy third party seller? Mine is perfect and came direct from the manufacturer.Side note - putting it together - for me who can't put things together - was workable but I got totally confused when it said the bottom of the handle should fit over the center pegs on the body of the mower. It seemed like the handle bottom was too wide for the place it needed to fit. Then I realized I had to squeeze the bottom of the handle - think of squeezing a tweezers - that's what you do to the bottom of the handle. Squeeze the "tweezers" a little - so it can fit between the mower "opening" where the pegs are. Open it again - and the holes go over the pegs and everything is snug and perfect. They should mention that the handle needs to be squeezed in the directions.

Child size
I was surprised it was smaller than expected. That's me not reading dimensions. However, it works as expected. I trim around areas that the rider can't reach. Weed Wackers are too heavy and hard to handle. This little mower is light weight, easy to use

Not to buy this lawm mower
The media could not be loaded. I did receive this in July,I had planted grass. I didn't open this box until April 11-2024 because my grass just grew. The blades are so bad, it doesn't even cut the grass. I know I should have waited to buy one until the grass grew, but I wanted to be prepared. Now the time has passed to where I can't get a return. I know my bad, I'm just sad that I lost out on $89 plus tax. I'm hoping that the seller can help me out, but if not I understand.

Doesn’t cut well
Good for kids if u don’t actually want your grass to be cut. It feels real and moves real. But as far as actually cutting grass it is not good. I bought to mow our fenced in area which is about 20’x20’ and I spent an hour on it (kids and I) and it still doesn’t look cut

You have to adjust the blades for this mower to work properly.
A lot of reviews say that it doesn't cut the grass. You have to adjust the blades before you use it. To do this, set it on its side and gently turn one wheel to make the blades turn. Tighten the adjustment knobs slowly until the blades start to make a slight scraping sound. Then back up the knobs slightly until the scraping stops, so that the rotating blade is almost touching the fixed blade. The cutting height can also be adjusted to 2 fixed settings by pulling the black knobs located on the sides behind the wheels. I recommend the lower setting. I have a small yard and this mower is perfect for it because it can go where the bigger ones cannot. Also rake your lawn free of sticks and other debris before you use the mower.*Update, November 25, 2022: The little mower is still going strong. I cut the grass once a month and so far so good!
