Worked great.
I had zero experience tapping threads. Had 4 locations, that needed 3/8 holes threaded and tapped on 1/2” steel. I bought 3 of these bits and taps to be safe. Drill bit was sharp and did not drift from pilot hole I drilled. Tap worked great. Once you feel some grinding of metal pieces, back out the tap, clean out and keep going. Worked great. Could have done the whole job with 1 drill and tap. I used the DEWALT tap holder, purchased separately.
