Not Stainless
They're right in stating that the blade is not stainless: the edge rusts even if you dry it carefully. The rust is easily removable with a bit of oil and some elbow grease, but I found it a bit disconcerting. Otherwise, a wonderful kitchen tool....

Beautifully made and wicked sharp out of the box. Most knives of this quality are $200 plus. If you've never used a hand made Japanese chef knife before be careful. It's and 8 inch scalpel.
