A little odd to set up, but works great and coffee tastes great!
I had a friend recommend this coffee pot to me and then I also read the reviews. They were very helpful with the setup honestly - as it is a little confusing at first from your basic coffee pot. Bunn coffee pots are known for keeping the water hot before you brew, thus when you get ready to make your cup of coffee it is ready to go very quickly. But you have to make sure you follow the directions in full when setting it up. Make sure to fill the water level how it says to. The most confusing thing I had was the on/off switch for the first time (I just couldn't figure out which direction was on and which was off, but after I got that straight it was fine). You open the lid on top (which while it is open keeps water from coming out below - no idea how that works, but it does). You will fill it up completely, put the decanter underneath, close the lid, and turn it on. You then let it heat for at least 15 minutes before trying to use it. Once you want to use it you fill your decanter up to how many cups you want - pour it in the opening leaving the lid up of course. Then put the decanter underneath and close the lid. As soon as you do that it starts sending water out into the coffee grounds and into the decanter. It's honestly super fast. They also recommend using warm or hot water when you pour it in. I am very happy with my purchase and the coffee tastes great!

The coffee maker lives up to all expectations. Easy to use and very quick.
It’s simplicity makes it so even a child could operate it.

I'm a BUNN convert - but call for the flow restrictor
I ordered this Bunn high altitude coffee maker after my husband and I grew increasingly disenchanted with the Cuisinart brand of coffee makers - our last Cuisinart was trouble almost from the very start, and we were looking for something different. I'd read many reviews about this Bunn machine, both positive and negative, and decided to give Bunn a try. I'm so glad I did - my husband and I are now enjoying a no fuss, easy, and generally stress-free coffee making experience every morning. Oh, and the Bunn brews a fast, hot, and delicious pot of coffee! We live at 5000 feet, so the high altitude version of this coffee maker was a good fit for us - the coffee comes out hotter than it would otherwise. A few things to keep in mind: There IS a learning curve using the Bunn. The prep process is slightly different than other coffee makers, but it's not hard to learn, and once you get the hang of how this machine works you CAN brew yourself a pot of coffee while half asleep, just like you did with other machines. Also, like other reviewers have noted, you'll probably want to call Bunn's 800 number and request that free "flow restrictor" part ... The part that they'll cheerfully and promptly mail to you upon request, and the part that they probably ought to just include in the box with the machine. I found that without it you run the risk of having a mess of water and coffee grounds all over the place when you try to brew a full pot of coffee, which is what happened to me. So upon the advice of of other reviewers I called Bunn customer service (yes, Bunn is a true "made in the USA" company, and their customer service folks are here in the USA, which I really appreciate) and had the flow restrictor part within 2 days. It was easy to swap out the existing part, and since then I've had no problems with my Bunn-O-Matic coffee maker. Finally, keep in mind that the Bunn doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles - no clock, no timer, no automatic shut-off etc. But honestly, the Bunn brews a better cup of coffee, and I like the simplicity of it. I am a Bunn convert and encourage others to give Bunn a try. The overall quality of both the machine and the brewing experience are truly superior to other brands.

Makes great coffee fast, bit of a learning curve.
I read reviews on this machine and was forewarned about some issues. I grind my own beans. To make a full ten cups at a strength I prefer, without a mess, requires experimenting with precise grinding and coffee measuring or the grounds will overflow the filter. Too fine a grind or too much volume and it will overflow the filter. Too coarse a grind, or low volume and the coffee suffers. The reduced flow spray head, which I ordered and received promptly, made it worse, so I went back to the stock spray head. Even so, little of the grinds make it in the pot, so not a big deal for my of thinking. If you brew less than the max 10 cup load it's no problem. Great coffee, but kind of a hassle. But, hey, this design is high volume restaurant oriented. For easier once a day brewing, a Mr Coffee type is way more convenient. If you're gadget oriented, you'll probably like it. And it cost $100 vs $25 for a Mr Coffee.<edit Sept 2021>After using this a bunch i thought I'd update the review. One of the issues you'll read about with this coffeemaker is the grinds overflowing the filter holder. When the brewing is done on a full 10 cup pot and you remove the filter holder, you'll see that some of the grinds do go over the top of the paper. This is a result of the vigorous force of the hot water spray nozzle. The paper filters could stand to be about 1/4" taller and still fit, but whatever. The deal is the grinds never make it to the bottom of the holder, and so none make it into the pot. They are trapped by the pressure of the paper filter against the inside of the filter holder, even though they are outside the filter. Removing the old filter and grinds was messy until I tried holding it upside down over the trashcan and pulling an edge of the filter to let the filter & grinds fall free. Then a simple rinse. Love this coffeemaker.
