Good replacement keypad for an older garage door
Once you know what to look for, setting this up is quite easy. It requires that you open up the opener mechanism (the thing inside your garage at the top which pulls the door) to find the code that your opener is set to. It's probably a set of either 12 or 9 mini switches, each with a number above it. The switches are either ON or OFF. You don't have to do anything to those switches except take a photo. Next, you open up the new keypad, find the same toggles in the keypad and match it to what you saw in your garage door mechanism. Once you do that, you'll then have to program the code you want to use to actual signal the door to open. Follow the instructions to make sure you program it to the type of door you have.Once you do that though, it should already be working. I'd recommend testing it out at this point before installing it. But if it all works, then you should be able to just attach it wherever you'd like nearby.Overall, the setup process was easier than I expected. The instruction manual was pretty good and helped throughout.

Easy and It works
Shipment / Delivery was pretty quick from Amazon. For Setup, I read the instructions and also watched the video on Amazon which gave me a pretty good idea.I followed the instructions to set up the PIN/Code on Refoss wireless keypad.I have a Genie IntelliG 1000 garage opener - which does not have a learn button. So the Refoss instruction did not exactly work.I searched and found instructions for programming/connecting Genie Wireless Keypad and tried that but that also did not work.My 3rd attempt was to program the Refoss Wireless Keypad just as I would do for normal remote control and that worked and was much easier. Mounting the Keypad to the side was also simple. The whole process from opening box to completion took about 15-20 minutes. The only issue I've seen is when I accidently pressed one of the button at angle, the button was stuck as pressed-in, but this has only happened once so I think it was user error.Family and I've used the keypad several times now and it works great, no issues.

Disconnected unconnected
Why would they ask for sheerness on review?. Even at best that is a old english word or norse skaar. That leads me to the other point. It did not work withy craftsman garage door. The directions are unclear and disconnected. I tried finding a help number. Not available. I tried emailing them. It got returned a available. If you got this thing to work for you, I am happy for you and maybe a customer could shed some light on this and open the door of knowledge for me.

Item is great after programming is achieved......
I like the fact it uses a 9v battery which last longer than the other battery options on the market. You do not want to bother with any other type of battery as they drain fast and without much use. 9 volt battery is a selling point for me.Pros: Very nicely packaged. All instructions and mounting screw options are neatly packaged and included. Once programming is achieved, this item works great.Cons: Programming is possible but only after many tried attempts and having to factory reset after each attempt to ensure I was starting from scratch. Not the easiest to program but great once it is achieved. Finally, having the keypad in my hand and standing near to the garage door "Learn" button to make it easier to try, fail, and reset to make it more convenient to turn it over to expose the "reset" hole on the rear of the keypad. My advice is to try and reset each time to ensure true factory reset and starting from scratch is assured. Also, I tried pressing the "Enter" key five times according the instructions. I then realized I should have been pressing the "Enter" key six times as per my Genie garage door model. It works and even though it was a little frustrating, part of that is my own fault. Had I realized I should have pressed the "Enter" key six times vs the five times, I may have had an easier time programming. So it is good to consider this when you get yours. I hope this helps in your buying decision process.

Great value, works great!
This universal opener worked very well with my garage door. Love that it is battery-powered vs. hard-wired like some other garage door openers. I am a renter so I’m excited that I’ll be able to take this with me and use it on another garage door when I move. Took me about 15 minutes and a few tries to assign the right garage door code to the unit. Instructions are slightly confusing in regards to how many times you push the Up/Down button when assigning a garage door brand/model, but I figured it out then. (Be sure to read through the instructions first!) All-in-all, excellent product for its value and universality. So far, keypad has not failed to open garage door when the code has been entered correctly.

Cheap
Cheap but found that it only lasts a year or two then it shorts out internally

Excellent Wireless Garage Door Opener
This thing is great! Doesn't require any running any wires, and only one hole to drill for installation. The programming instructions took a couple tries to get right but I don't fault the unit for that, especially since I'll likely never have to do it again (except in the unlikely event I get a 2nd garage door, haha!). No issues pairing with my old Genie opener, and works as expected! The keypad construction is perfectly fine, and inline with every one I've ever used. The buttons light up in the dark, and the throw on them feels nice.Overall would recommend and happily buy again if needed. This sure beats walking all the way back to the house if I forget to open my garage door!

Make sure your main unit isn't too old
Nothing wrong with the keypad, but our door opener was just too old. Tries a couple different units and none worked with our unit.
