Q: Can you buy the special tool to open the snake head

It's just a very small philips screw driver, found at any hardware store or store that sells tools.

Q: How can you change the batteries?

The batteries are fairly easy to change but there are a few tips that can be helpful. First, you need 5 AAA batteries. On the remote, simply unscrew teh battery compartment with a standard phillips head and replace 2 batteries. There are 3 AAA batteries in the snake's head. Turn the snak on its back and you'll see 4 large and 2 small screws. Tip #1: don't mess with the small screws. The four large screws need ot be taken out. If you look carefully at the screw head you'll see that the screws seem to require a triangle shaped screwdriver head. Good luck finding one of those. tip #2: you can use a 2.5 mm slotted (i.e., regular flat head) screwdriver. Take your time to carefully place the screwdriver tip into the triangle. It should be a nice, tight fit. Unscrew the four screws. Next turn the snake right-side-up and gently pry the upper part of the head from the bottom. Tip #3: be careful to not pull on the wires and if the lights for the eyes come out of their slots, simply press them back into place before reassembly. Tip #4: with the head cover removed, you'll see the tip of one battery in the first joint to the rear of the snake's head. grasp the first joint with one hand, hold the head with your other hand and then gently slide the joint away from the head. The entire battery will now be visible and replaceable. Turn the snake over and you'll find 2 more AAA batteries in the bottom of the first joint. After replacing the 3 batteries, reassemble and have fun.

Fun toy for little ones

The one con of this toy is it’s no good on carpet you have to have a solid surfaceMy 2 year old loves it we got the spider for our 5 year old from the same brand and that’s loved as well

Changing Batteries

After reading all the reviews about battery replacement in the snake head, looking at the video was no help. Using the screwdriver that fits our eyeglass screws works perfect. Yes the screws were tight but now they will be easier to remove. After the removal of the two screws in the head/neck area, batteries pop out and piece of cake. The boys love this snake. Good speed and control. Although the 5 year old got angry at his brother and popped the body apart Fortunately, this time it snapped back in place and works great.

Fun and easy to maneuver, breaks easy, simple fix.

The pieces broke twice in 2 days...i think the product is great but if you have on the floor or in toy box and something brushes against, it broke easy. Pieces were easy to snap off, and reattach parts that werent broke but after 2 times wasnt as long. Kids still found pleasure in it maybe if it came with a few exra pieces it would be even better. I would still recommend to buy, just be extra cautious and store in a safe place not to high cause if it falls from any height, chances are a piece will break. I wish i had something like this when i was a kid.

Look for a better option.

Works ok on hard wood floors but not very well on carpeting. Battery drains quickly .

My son loves this

This is actually a really cool gift for kids. It moves around like it’s a real snake. It’s pretty durable, I do have kids who play rough. A piece of a link broke and it was easy to fix, I still have it from Christmas so I feel like it’s worth the price.
