I read the reviews about there being less charcoal on the replacement filter than in the original, but I needed a new filter so I decided to buy this one. Unfortunately, when both filters are held to the light, it is easy to see that the replacement filter is missing at least 50% of the charcoal than the original filter. There are small circular pockets filled with charcoal in my original filter. Those same circles have half or less charcoal in them in the replacement filter. It seems to me that much less of the air going through the filter actually comes in contact with the charcoal.The description is also misleading, "BREATHE FRESH AND CLEANER AIR: A true HEPA filter, activated carbon filter, and pre filter screen work to help improve indoor air quality." While it does not state that all three filters are included, it is easy to make that assumption. The screen is washable to a point, but I cannot get it to look like new after a couple of years of use.I do like how the filters fit, so I am continuing to only use Germ Guardian filters for my air purifier.

Maybe genuine but it came without the Pre-Filter screen. Description clearly says it comes with the screen and the OEM product comes with 3 filters - the charcoal, the hepa and the pre-filter. This came without the pre-filter and unfortunately, it's beyond the 30-day return limit now because I did not install it right away. I will buy elsewhere.

Carbon filter is 60% empty. For a " genuine " filter to be more than half empty at this high price, this is unacceptable.The original that came with the unit was full to the top.
