Top tip, pump foam onto a cotton pad and place on painful area, and leave there. Replace when needed, absolutely amazing.

Expensive but great for immediately post birth instead of having to manually add a gel to a pad each time. These were brilliant for the first week and if they were cheaper I'd keep buying again and again.
