Durable and reliable for it's price. Worth buyin
Good quality camera for it's price. Gives a good quality picture. Holds the battery charge well, also has an SD to save screenshots. Really useful for an automotive mechanic

This borescope saved a $40,000 airplane engine overhaul.
Even little airplanes cost a lot these days, especially their engines. I wanted to sell my Cessna to an old friend, but because it had been sitting idle for 15 years, I was concerned about hidden rust in the engine that would be very expensive to fix. If the camshaft was rusty, it would require a $40,000 overhaul. All the mechanics sadly shook their heads and said, "Yup; you will undoubtedly need an overhaul."Unfortunately, there's no inexpensive way to inspect the camshaft, EXCEPT with a borescope with a tiny head, like this one. By draining the oil and snaking this scope up past induction pipes and through a very small oil drain slot, then up past the crank and connecting rods, I was able to see and photograph enough of the camshaft to discover that it was actually in very good shape. So, after the FAA-certified mechanic carefully inspected everything else, we started it up and it ran perfectly. It took off from my little grass strip with a mighty roar, climbed like a homesick angel, and flew off to its next adventure in life with my friend. We are delighted with the results of this borescope!

Good value, mediocre durability, good service
Edit: after posting this, depstech reached out and offered a replacement at no charge, so I am happy with their customer service.I have used this on and off for 6 months as an electrician, sticking it in holes in the wall and using it to help fish items. The camera is very nifty, and the price point is good for all you get. Far cheaper than brand name contractor stuff. The camera/screen is plenty good enough for what I do. The light on the end will light up 1-2ft of space in front of the camera, usually sufficient. The cord is a bit flimsy though. On that note, I had a premature failure of the light, it seems the wires pulled apart from the end bit while flexing the cord. So the camera still works, but now it has no light. Depstech has sent me a new unit, hopefully that holds up better.

Excellent for use as boresope on engines
This scope is replacing an older one I have that only has about a two foot camera and is so thick it just makes it into a spark plug hole on an engine. The old one has (had) a detachable small screen that took actual batteries and had pins that ultimately broke on the bottom when you connect it back on the hand held camera part. Why am I going on about the old one? Because this DEPSTECH camera is so much more advanced! All in one unit with a really thin and long camera. The light on it is perfect and I can actually maneuver the camera to see different parts of cylinders or down under engine blocks etc. The display is huge compared to the old one and the detail is much better. I also love that there are no "replaceable" batteries that you need to mess with, you just charge the unit and go on with your task. I don't use this daily but it is great to have ready to go when you need it. I use this for automotive purposes but there are other things you could probably use it for like drain inspection.

A little too basic for some tasks
This is very basic. Used it to see what might be blocking airflow in ducts and found the light on the camera can overpower the video stream and without a articulating head, it is not realistic to get a good view without having a secondary item manipulate the movement of the camera through ducting. This may be ok with automtive use but it is easily blocked by ducting that has ribbing or anything that is not a smooth surface. This unit cannot review the photos on the screen afterwards. Only after removing the TF card and plugging into a device that can read the media from the card separately. You get what you pay for in this device as it offers very basic features and requires buying a more expensive device to get convenient features.

Solid borescope for the price
Thanks to my need to misplace every tool I own, I wasn't able to find my old cheap endoscope camera that hooks into a cell phone to produce...passable video. This time around, I decided to spend a small amount more for a semi-rigid scope with its own screen (tired of installing/uninstalling apps every time I want to use a simple tool). I'm not using this thing to make money, so I wasn't going to splash out the Snap-On tax. Lots of available options with similar specs, so I picked the one that looked like it would be the most comfortable for me to hold while also being able to fit into some of my tool drawers (it will never, ever be stored in one, because I'm terrible). Also, the brand name was the least word-salady I could find, so bonus points for that.Didn't expect much more than a semi-grainy picture that would tell me how bad the carbon buildup on the piston crown was, and maybe if there was a bunch of scoring on the cylinder walls. What I got was a *very* clear video of the cylinder, and using the included angle mirror, I was able to inspect the valves with ease. The camera end is very skinny, the cable is nicely rigid, and the control body is very easy to hold while pressing buttons all with one hand.If you think you might want or need a borescope, but aren't looking to pay through the nose on pro tools, I highly recommend this one. Easy to use, comfortable, good picture quality, solid value. I can't wait to lose it like all of my other tools!

Camera broke, customer service was great!
I had my camera for a little over a year and it never really worked. Keep getting 'No Signal' then to a blue screen. I contacted Depstech Customer Support and got a response the next day. They asked me to check something and I explained the issue further. They asked for a picture of what I was talking about. Immediately they came back telling me that my camera was faulty. Asked for my order number and mailing address. Got two emails confirming a new scope was in process and another saying it was shipped. Got the new one and it works as expected. Fantastic customer service! The new scope is great - cable is long and screen is clear.
