Slow burning, Riveting read!
The Night She Disappeared by Lisa JewellA fabulous Book from author, Lisa Jewell, This is a slow burning, riveting read.Talulah, a teen mother has gone missing after she went on a date with her possessive and controlling boyfriend Zach. Kim, Talulah's mother leaves no stone unturned in her search for her missing daughter. The case goes cold. Sophie, a bestselling mystery writer moves to the same area as Kim along with her boyfriend who is the head teacher at the local school. In her exploration of her surroundings she finds a sign asking her to dig at a specific location. Upon digging she finds a clue which helps kick start Talulah's case once again and the eventual search once again. What I loved about The Night She Disappeared is the fact that all the characters felt so real. The setting is beautiful yet chilling. The twists keep coming at literally a breakneck speed. The story is from multiple POV's Talulah's as well as her mother Kim's. Kims POV is about the present whereas her daughter's is from the past leading up to the day she disappeared. This definitely was a novel which I just couldn't put down at all. Filled with emotions, secrets, lies and a ton of mystery, this is one of the best books I've read so far this year.

Lisa Jewell never ever has managed to disappointed me. All her stories are worthwhile reads according to me. And lo and behold, she does it this time too. The story’s quite intriguing and is definitely addictive!

Excellent read and gripping
It uses the latest trend of going back and forth in timelines but a refreshing plot and a gripping story. Took some time to get hooked but loved it.

Nice book, worth a try
The delivery was fast and the book was completely new and in a very good condition. However pages were a bit of poor quality and rough.Coming to the story it was somewhat engaging and thought proving. Can be considered a good thriller novel.Overall a decent purchase.

A good but not so surprising read.
The story starts with Tallulah, a teenage mom who plans to go out with her friends and leaves her baby, Noah with her mom, Kim. She tells her mom that she'd be back home soon but she never returned. One year after, Shaun and Sophie moves to a cottage where Shaun started work in a school. Sophie is a novelist by profession and one day in the back garden of her cottage, she found a cardboard fence which reads "Dig Here".Sophie starts investigation and what she found is devastating.Sophie, Zach, Kim and others are good characters and narration of the story is good. But I personally didn't like the ending. Zach didn't deserve that, did he?This makes it a one time read. Read it one time and then forget about it. It's not a memorable story.

A decent thriller
I really enjoyed reading my first Lisa Jewel. I can see now where all the hype was coming from and I'm glad the hype is real! The Night She Disappeared was so different from other thrillers that I've read. Most often, I'm only vexed by the incessant banter and unnecessary imaginations of the side characters (or so we think), adding their bits and contributions to the plot but this time it wasn't like that. Every character felt equally important and unnerving. There are lose ends everywhere, but somehow you get the feeling that they're all connected. If you notice closely, you'll see those hints everywhere but without the lock you won't know which key to use.I'm so thankful for the uninterrupted narration and jumpy pace. This is the kind of book that you wouldn't want to skip even a line. Not because you would miss the plot but because it's just so well written and interesting. Definitely recommend.

Gripping, Well Constructed, My Favorite Thriller in a Long Time!
I only recently discovered Lisa Jewell. As someone who loves all kinds of thrillers and true crime, it surprises me in retrospect that I didn't discover her until recently; the first book of hers that I read was "None Of This Is True", which I loved. Then, of course, I had to look up all her books. "Then She Was Gone" was next; loved it.THEN I ordered THIS book.Wow. WOW! It's SO well written, and so well constructed.I love that Jewell really takes the time to develop the characters and through her style of storytelling puts you inside their minds, with chapters jumping back and forth in time from before crime/crime/aftermath. It builds suspense because you know something terrible happened, and it involved and impacted lots of people, and you're on the edge of your seat waiting to see how it's all going to come together.I know a lot of people will write a review and say, "I read it in one night", or, "I couldn't put it down". I find that I have to read Jewell's books a few chapters at a time. I need a chance, just like the characters in the books, to sit and absorb what I've learned, and process what it all means. It makes the endings so satisfying because unlike a lot of writers Jewell doesn't rely on formulaic storytelling or hard-to-believe plot points; she makes sure to play all of the beats insofar as the thoughts and reactions of everyone involved in the story, which in turn ensures that the plot is character-driven. Much more satisfying. The suspense in this one is SO engrossing! The story is relatable in the sense we've all known toxic people who leave lots of irreparable damage in their wake, either directly or through the unfortunate souls in their orbit. This is one of my must-reads on my "thriller" bookshelf and I'll be giving it as a gift for Christmas to lots of people this year, along with "Ask for Andrea", the other hugely gripping novel I've read in recent months.

From beginning to end, a great mystery that grabs you from page one. I've read many books of Jewell and loved them all, but this one leapt to number one favorite. Don't miss it!

Brilliant!
Couldn’t put it down. The all consuming and overpowering love a mother has for her child is beautifully weaved into the story and played out in the most heartbreaking way. Loved it.
