I’m a pretty novice painter. I got this because it bundled brushes, paint, and paper together. That’s convenient. However, I took a short watercolor class, and brought these to use. I also brought some different watercolor paper blocks from other manufacturers. Initially the instructor said the paints would be ok but make it harder to paint, but then when he was trying to demonstrate how to do what he was teaching on my paper and with my paint, he quickly realized it was so cheap and impossible to work with for any real watercolor work. Fine for kids, maybe. I also noticed next to the other papers I had that this one isn’t true white - it had a purplish cast, almost, and the paper was more likely to break down than the others - all 140 size, cold press. So both the paper and paint are pretty bad quality. I also don’t like that the perforation doesn’t allow for a clean edge on that side. My review has two paintings, both by me and on the same day. The first is with this paint and paper, the second with borrowed paint and the other paper - and those not top of the line. If you are really wanting to get into watercolor, save your money and invest in better materials.

This is easily the best purchase I’ve made all of 2020. I’m a gal in my early 30s and have been working from home since the start of covid. I bought this about two weeks ago and it has been the perfect 5-10 minute break in my day when I need to step away from my computer for a minute. I’ve never been “crafty” but this has been such a fun way to add creativity to my life.If you’re on the fence about ordering, just do it! The pages are thick and it’s really fun experimenting with water color (again- newbie to art here). The you can fill the end of your brush with water, which makes it super convenient too!It might be weird to say, but this little art set has just brought me so much joy during all of this crazy chaos!

Definitely a beginner set and good for the price but the paper quality makes it difficult to do a wash because it’s so absorbent. I learned quickly also that the paper will only take so many strokes before it peels. The paints are very muted, flat, and need a lot of water to get the pigment. Dried paint results in chalky opaque color. Good for kids but may be not the best for adults if you really want to learn work on beginner techniques. The water brushes are a great idea to help soften the paint but you can’t control the flow of water.

I bought this and another brand of brushes and pallet. This is a great set to start with the paper is a nice quality. The 3 brushes in the set are fairly stiff, kinda nylon-ish, so I'm glad I bought another brand, but they do work if you just want to get the hang of using water brushes, just keep in mind there's better one. The pallet itself I found to be fairly muted colors, lacking some intense pigment, but I do find that I use the pallet quite a bit with the higher quality one especially the pink and peach

Not only is this a great product and great for all ages, but the customer service you receive is absolutely amazing! They reached out to me right away and have been wonderful to communicate with! And to top it off...we received a free gift, which my daughter was thrilled about! I cannot say enough good things! Got this for a gift for my granddaughter for Christmas. Been told she loves it.

Bought this for my elementary aged kiddo to use. The paints are beautiful and vibrant color. The paper is a nice thick quality that allows for the massive amount of paint and water my kiddo sometimes stacks on it. And, the best part is the water filled brushes. They make for less messes and easy clean up. I definitely recommend.

I haven't water colored since I was a kid but I thought I would give it a try since I'm getting back into crafting. These were wonderful!! I love that it's a kit and everything you need to get started is right here. I also thought it was a great idea to have the water INSIDE the pens. It made it so much easier to use. Be sure to practice on a seperate sheet of paper until you get a feel for the flow of the paint and water. You definitely need to try this. I plan on buying a few more to have friends over for Wine & Watercolors!! Cheers!!

I’m new to watercolour and haven’t used any other kinds of paint but I think it works great

I am an absolute beginner! Probably haven’t done something like this since I was in Grade 2 and I am now 67! I took an online class and think I did OK. Everything you need is included in this kit. Good quality paper, easy to use brushes and a lovely array of colours.

The kit seems good for beginners. The brushes are easy to use and you have a lot of choices in the colors. However, it is written on the Amazon website description that the paper is “perfect for all kinds of watercoloring techniques“ but finally it is written on the kit that the paper “is not designed for wet on wet techniques” which is one of the usual technique for watercolours... I am a bit confused... this is for a present so I didn’t try it yet but I’m disappointed that the description doesn’t match...

I like the colour selection. I had higher expectations with this product. They should have included a round brush and a mixing tray with this kit. It would’ve completed the package for a beginner. The water barrel works ok but you loose control of the flow quickly. Little pieces of paper comes off if you run the brush too much to blend wet on wet. The dried result is calky. It’s great for kids but not for learning certain techniques. You’re going to need more supplies. I was able to do a decent painting so I’m not completely disappointed.

I bought this for lil one to practice using watercolours for school projects. The book is of great quality and is sturdy. Pens are convenient to hold water and drip only required amount of water on the colour blocks.There is no instruction manual but their website has good info and YouTube has a couple of good demos. We all have been having a great time using these watercolours.
