According to the company the tea tree oil really is food grade!The fine print on the label says “Tea Tree oil should never be used internally.” That caused some questions in my mind about the safety of using it along with my toothpaste!Fortunately the company that makes this product wrote me back after I questioned them about it. The representative wrote something that indicated their product is food grade, but any customer who wants to swallow it should to be under a doctor’ssupervision! I am certainly not going to swallow it because I have no idea how much would be safe to swallow!So yes, get a doctor first if you plan to swallow it! I am glad that it is safe to put in my mouth because I am hoping if I put it on some toothpaste it will help my gingivitis! I just have to be careful with the bottle’s dropper because the tea tree oil comes out a little fast if I tip the bottle much! And it seems very potent! I actually did put some on my toothpaste. I am old enough to know how to spit it out, rinse my mouth, and not swallow! So I am happy with the product at this point in time because I’m hoping the potent tea tree oil will help remedy my gum problems!!!
