Overall I have been pleased with the way this worked. I was able to dethatch a section of my lawn that I accidentally killed off by using the wrong weed product and I did not want to rent a Dethatcher for such a small area. This product worked great and I was able to get the area reseeded and within 2 weeks I had my lawn back. I plan to use the scarifier on some other bad spots and I am sure by just an experiment with it, that it will work just fine. I am not sure how it would work for large areas as the collection basket is not very big and I had to keep dumping it after just one 25ft pass. That said, I have never dethatched my lawn before this and it was dead grass, so I had a lot of waste.I will be using it again next season as I think it really helps the grass grow!

This machine really is quite effective especially considering the low price. You will need at 14G or lower extension cord. Anything higher and it will get very hot and potentially melt. Also, this pulls A TON of debris from your lawn. I mowed my 2500sq foot front yard super short and bagged the grass clippings (pulled three yard waste bags out). Even after that, a one-pass dethatching with this machine generated another SIX BAGS of debris! If I did two passes I'm sure i would have 10+ bags of debris. I did not try the lawnmower approach to picking up the debris but i can attest that manually raking or even using a blower and hand bagging is very time consuming. The included bagger for this machine is not very helpful. It only fills half-way before it stops collecting. You basically have to empty it every 8 feet. So make sure you have help collecting or try the lawnmower bagging approach. One minor complaint-- the wheels are not adequately spaced from the deck. They are very close and the frequently results in the debris fouling the wheels requiring you to go back and forth to free them up. Not a big deal but really a rather silly design flaw for an otherwise well-executed and purpose-built machine.

Great decision to purchase. Machine is everything it claimed to be. Worked perfectly with no issues - hassle free. Runs quietly, efficiently and is super easy to use! Highly recommend!

Has two attachments, scarifier and de-thatcher. Even at the lowest setting, the scarifier digs and and can form bald areas in a normal lawn. The de-thatcher worked fine.

I liked the ease of movement. I disliked the move removal because it didn’t come through the top to lift. I had to lift and turn the bag to lift. The dethatcher worked with pulling up a lot of grass. I’m not sure at the end the blade was impacted so I may not have gotten the best out of it. Maybe check the blade every so often to make sure it’s clear. This is my first time using a product like this and I’ll buy it again.
