Affordable
Priced this tilt motor at the boat place and they wanted an arm and leg for it. This is the same motor the dealer has except it doesn't have yamaha written on it and it was cheaper

Works great for 01 Yamaha 2 stroke
Works great. I don’t know how long it will last but even if I bought 5 of them it’s cheaper than the O.E.M part. It fits my 2001 Yamaha 40 hp two stoke. I first bought the short shaft but that was the wrong one. Also I did use the o ring that came with and had no leak issues.

Worked perfectly Yamaha 50TLRD
Make sure to attach a line to old wires, so you can easily snake back new ones. Everything went well. I spray painted exterior with zinc to help with corrosion.

Missing item in box
Missing plastic link not n the box that is shown in the pictureNow two months later the tilt/trim down stopped working and it’s not the relay it’s the motor . That was a waist of time and money . There is also no way to contact the company that sold the unit to see about replacing the motor

This uses 3 out of the original 6 mounting screws
Was thinking they sent the wrong one and returned the first one due to it only having 3 mounting holes. I was informed the part is correct and tried it again. Once I removed the original trim motor I found that this does line up with 3 out of the 6 holes and in fact did work. It works great and at a great price point. Does not have the Yamaha marine coating so cleaning this after use will be critical to longevity. DB electrical customer service was fantastic as well.

Perfect Replacement
The media could not be loaded. My trim motor for my 2004 Yamaha TLR50 died at the dock. I found oem replacement but whether it was actually going to arrive was unclear as there were only two of them available in the world, both being in Japan. I found this one here and took a chance based on reviews alone. I’m glad I did. It works great and the price is even better.
