Q: since this is thread enabled, will it work with smartthings hub that's thread enabled?

Technically yes, if your hub is a thread border router. In my case it is the Apple TV. I have not tried any other border router.

Q: Will it make a loud noise if door is opened?

This device will not make any noise, just a pale light flash. You connect it to HomeKit or other Home Assistant applications and then those applications can do alerts or lights or whatever you want.

Q: Can I get notifications if I am away from my home ?

Yes ,but you have to use an Apple TV 4/4K or HomePod/mini as hub
