This tank will do well with the right substrate. I've had mine set up now for about 5 weeks. My water has been testing perfect. And get the right aeration will help.

I'm setting this up as a planted shrimp only tank and it looks great. The glass has a great clarity, quite surprising to me actually given the price point and all the doo-dads included with it. The provided light is fine for such a small tank. It's quite sleek. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is for 2 reasons. First, the edges on mine don't line up perfectly. They're out of alignment ever so slightly, not enough to risk structural failure but it is annoying. Secondly, the filter that comes with the tank is pretty big. They make a smaller model of the same style that I wish they'd included with the kit instead. But I understand not everybody is going to be using the tank in the same manner as me and to a lot of people (maybe most?) having a larger filter than needed would be a positive.Overall I'm very happy with this little setup.

The first tank I purchased was shattered. However; I've purchased 3 since then and all three came in perfect condition. The issue with the first one was that the original box marked FRAGILE was then placed inside an Amazon delivery box that was not marked fragile, so it must have been tossed around a bit. Nonetheless, I have two established tanks and will be setting up my third shortly. Beautiful modern-looking tanks that hold my betta in one, and my mixed neocaridina shrimp in the other.

Super cute tank! I needed something small for my snails.I plan on adding some more plants, some sand, and a tiny light. I am not using the tank for fish.The bottom is just glass. I think that's what the mat is for, but I ended up putting some foam under it.Either way, my snails love it (albeit they are easy to please).

Great size to keep on a desk, seems well made and was well packed.
