best gift to myself in the last few years
I am 5 ft 5 in tall. I have a plain soaker tub, a little taller than a regular tub for children.I have been unable to take a bath since my second knee replacement several years ago. I bought this after looking at bath lifts for a few yrs and pulled the plug a week ago. Sooo glad that I got this one. It is easy for this 67 yo female to put together and charge up. In a few hours, I was soaking in my first bath with Dr. Teal foaming Epson Salt bathworks. I felt like I was in a spa!! I have had the lift for a week and have used it daily. I am the only one using the bathroom, so I leave the lift in the tub all the time. The directions were very clear. The lift is very sturdy, and I wish that i had ordered it a few years ago. I have always loved bathing; showers are ok, but a nice relaxing tub bath is the best for me. If you are on the fence and have a tub , do not hesitate.

More than just a bath chair.
This is a great bath chair. Easy to assemble and fits my mom's narrow tub. She loves it!Plus, when she fell in her living room it was surprisingly useful. Her daughter can't lift her by herself so she got the bath chair and was able to slide it under her mom. The chair was powerful enough to help lift her slowly from the floor. She was then able to get her mom back into her own chair. This bath chair is a life saver. An it never missed a beat. Thank God we purchased this bath chair. I just want to say Thank you to the company that makes this chair. It's expensive, but well worth the money. I will definitely be recommending this bath chair to everyone.

This has helped my mother be able to take baths again.
My mother has bad knees and could no longer get in and out of the tub. She liked to take bubble baths but just could no longer do so. Now with this great chair she can take her bubble baths again. The chair operates well and is quiet. She hasn't had any issues with stability at this point. And it is easy to remove if someone else wants to use the tub. My only gripe is that when the battery eventually fails, the only solution is to buy an entire hand control unit instead of having a replaceable battery. I know it is waterproof but you should at least have a service to replace the thing. $200 for a new hand control is a bit crazy. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it though, for now, the lift works great and is exactly what she needed. I am removing one star because I know about the battery issue though.

Great for Senoirs
I have lost my upper body strength for helping myself get out of the bath tub. when I got eczema and needed to soak it was in trouble with out being able to use my tub. when I found this super product , its been a answer to my prayer. it works like a total dream and it feels very reliable. I have not fear it of being stuck in the tub ever again.. its sits nice and high for being able to to just stand up in the tub and , there is enough room for me to turn around and get out of the side of the tub while standing up. I highly recommend this wonder chair lift for any one who might be thinking they need a walk in tub... this is far far better plan ,, and i get my self totally submerged . I am 5ft6 ,weight a little over 200 lbs and it does the job just lovely. I did cover it will a yoga mat as another suggested , due to the flimsy seat cover that is included..

Easy to use
This chair is for my 88 year old mother who has trouble getting in and out of the bathtub. This works great for her to raise up the seat and then put it down in the water. The only issue she has is putting the control on the seat in the back. It's a little hard to push down so I have to do that part for her.

Think Twice Before Buying This Product
Drive Medical is a big company; but my advice is to steer clear of their prodoucts. This Bellavita Bathlift was the third Drive Medical product I’ve purchased; and all three products have been defective in one way or another. With that said, I received my Bellavita Bathlift on Saturday, Mar. 21, 2020; but it is missing the battery charger. On Monday, I contacted Drive Medical to see if they could send me the missing part. I couldn’t even speak to a real person at Drive Medical; but rather had to use their online live chat option. After explaining the problem, Drive’s customer service persons told me I had to resolve the problem through the seller (i.e. Amazon). That was because it had been less than 30 days since I purchased it. Their company would only help me if I was filing a warranty claims, after the initial 30 days.In the past, I’ve received a few other products that had missing or broken parts. Amazon’s standard reply has been that they can’t open a box and send me a replacement part. Instead, my only recourse was to return the whole product for a replacement. I assumed it would be the same story this time; but I couldn’t even speak to an Amazon customer support person. Amazon’s telephone recording said to expect a longer than normal wait time because they are short staffed due to complying with Coronavirus guidelines. Then, the recording just disconnected. At this point in time, I DO NOT want a replacement. This has been just too much hassle; so I’ll buy what I need from a local company.; and it won't be something made by Drive Medical. Their inability or unwillingness to help was unacceptable customer support. Now, as for my impression of the actual Bellavita Bathlift.Even though I didn’t get to actually use it, it felt cheap and flimsy. The entire frame is made from plastic. I felt like the side wings, as well as the other frame parts, could easily be broken. This next issue will vary depending on the type of tub a person has. Given the size and placement of the lift, within the bathtub, I lost about 14” from the length of my bathtub and about 3” from the depth. I was so cramped that I couldn’t lay down in my tub in order to soak my upper back and shoulders.Lastly, the vinyl seat and back covers are a hazard waiting to happen. Unless you disassemble and dry everything after each bath, water could easily collect under the covers, leading to dangerous mold and mildew situation. All things considered, my 1-star rating is being generous.-----Update:As I mentioned in my original review, I wasn’t at all impressed with the Drive Medical Bellevida Bathlift. One thing I didn’t mention is that the Bellevida’s control unit plugs into the seat back. (This is also true for all similar bathlift chairs made by other companies). Even though the seat back and bottom detach from each other, the back must be attached in order for the lift mechanism to work. And, if you have a jetted bathtub, the back of the bathlift blocks the jets; so you lose the therapeutic benefit they provide. After returning my defective (i.e. missing charger) Bellevida, I reviewed dozens of other bathlifts. In doing so, I came across one that is rather unique. It’s called the Peter Pan Bathlift; and it’s made in Germany. Perhaps, that’s one of the reasons Amazon doesn’t sell it. In fact, I only found a couple US medical supply companies that do sell the Peter Pan Bathlift.Rather than having a battery-powered controller unit, which must be recharged, the Peter Pan has a manual crank handle that you use to raise and lower the seat. And, since the crank handle fits in a hole in the seat, you can use only the seat portion (i.e. without the back attached). That gives you access to the full length of your tub, and also to the jets (if your tub has them). Furthermore, the Peter Pan has a metal frame; which feels much sturdier than the Bellevida’s plastic frame. It takes about 40 turns to fully raise (or fully lower) the Peter Pan’s seat; but the crank handle turned smoothly and with minimal effort. Given the metal frame, and the lack of motorized parts, I suspect my Peter Pan Bathlift will outlive me. So far, I am very satisfied with it; and I love being able to take a bath again.BTW: I’m just a regular consumer who appreciates having as much information as possible before spending my hard-earned money. I’m not a sales rep for the Peter Pan Bathlift, nor am I receiving any compensation for promoting it.

When you need a lift
This is just what I needed. I have had multiple elbow dislocations and could not get in and out of the tub. This has allowed me to get my relaxing soaks safely. It is very stable and I can use it independently.
