A good "medium carb" meal, over steel cut oats
The peas are a bit of a carb, but also high protein. It's very tasty, and the paneer is good, for having been canned (it gets a little tough, when processed like this, but that's expectable). But as a diabetic, I get a lot of these South Asian tins and packs to serve over steel cut oats (lower GI than brown rice, and much like short grain brown rice really, especially once chilled and reheated from a meal prep container).Half a can plus a serving of oats makes a nice meal. Add a salad or yogurt, pickles or olives, and some tea to round it out if you're feeling elaborate. But I'll often eat this at my desk, working, and it's lovely.Jyoti's canned dishes are very flavorful, and much too salty to eat by themselves, so be sure to eat them with some kind of flatbread or rice equivalent. It's a design feature. (Although, I'm tempted to dock a star for the salt. It would be nice to have the option to add more -- I'd really prefer less...)

My favorite Jyoti flavor
I've tried three of the Jyoti products so far, and the Matar Paneer comes out as my favorite (over Dal Makhani and Jaipur Karhi). For those used to products from MTR or Tasty Bite, Jyoti canned foods are a reasonable, competitively-priced alternative. The flavor is quite good, despite the somewhat odd consistency out of the can. If you haven't done so, give these products a try. Note that of the three flavors I've tried, the Matar Paneer has the highest calorie count (by quite a bit).Pros: Great taste, good value, filling,Cons: consistency/texture not as good as that of MTR / Tasty Bite, more calories than other Jyoti products I've tried.Bottom line: a worthy addition to your pantry.

Were $2 a can a week ago but now they are $6 a can.
I bought these last week for about $2 a can. I was pleasantly surprised at the taste. Sauté a bit of onion in oil and then add the can and heat. very nice. I decided to order a lot more to stock my pantry but now they are over $6 a can. They are good but not THAT good.

Spice Sauce Meal In a Can. Just Add Rice
Woah this stuff is cool. The cheese is like tofu. I would absolutely spread this on top of rice and have enough for two people with some naan and lettuce on the side. It's mainly peas, but because of the sauce, it's not a can of peas. Don't buy this for the peas, buy it for the SAUCE. But don't eat it straight unless you want some spice heat related heart burn. I didn't know that, and I just heated it up plain in a bowl, and went to town. Awesome, but it was so concentrated with spices in the sauce I began to regrets about halfway through.Don't regrets like bad me, make a meal out if it with sides and stuff. Or make fire attack burps. Your call. Kind of like an MRE.

Bland but good
This was a nice change of pace but I thought it was bland. I don't like "spicy" heat but this could have used a little something to make it more interesting.

Delicious, Healthy Filling Indian Paneer Dinner
Love this Jyoti product. Great on top of rice. Makes a delicious and healthy meal. Wish I could find Indian food at the grocery store at a more reasonable price. Competitive with say other ethnic brands like Goya, but sadly, the grocery stores even in an urban metropolis such as New York have not yet caught on. This recipe has a combination of peas and paneer cheese, so it has the protein and vegetables mix which is healthy. Almost don't want to review this product as they will be sold out and then what is a girl to do, but this product is truly yummy for a great dinner.

Good taste but got Expensive.
I like this product. But the price went from 2 dollars and change to 4 dollars. It doubled. Why? I stopped buying this now. If the price decreases back to normal i will and enjoy.

Too rich
I like this line of canned foods, very good quality. But this particular one is a bit rich for my tastes.
