I am using it with a Roland, though a different model. The trick is that the jack plugs have IN and OUT on them, but the IN plugs into OUT and the OUT plugs into IN. Don’t ask why, but that could be your problem. Hope that helps.

Q: Will this cable work with Rocktron Intellifex rack effects unit to download sysex files?

Not sure how many times I can type this: it's just a USB MIDI interface for a computer. Providing your OS recognises it as such, then it'll do anything that any other MIDI interface will do.

Q: My drum kit only has one midi out, will this work for it?

Yes. Your whole midi kit will only transmit on one midi channel at a time. Usually preset to midi channel 10. All midi has 16 channels built in.
