Simpson Strong Tie TP35 3-1/8 in. x 5 in. Tie Plate 100-per Box

I was buying these at my local hardware store for 2.99 each. I am doing a LONG sidewalk project that needed a lot more. This box of 100 was less than $.75 each. Thanks for cheap price. My only concern was that someone cut out the UPC or something from the box which makes me suspect they had a rebate or something they saved money on. Seems a bit shady, but a nice price saving from what I was paying.

These are excellent and exactly what I needed for a cedar fence that I was building. I painted these black and use them to install recessed rails on a cedar rail fence around 2 acres.

If using on both sides of a 2x3 or 2x4 I found it helpful to stagger the holes from one side to the other so they do not hit in the middle. I also predrilled to help avoid splitting.

Items arrived as expected. Little piece of plate with some beveled holes in it for screws. The plates were straight and clean, but it is worth noting that your screws will not fit exactly flush, depending on the screws used. I used exterior t-20 screws, and the screws do not sit flush. You wouldnt want to put this on the top of a table or a deck where walking or smoothness is concerned.

It's a good quality plate that will hold well for a very long time.
