I knew when I ordered the spoons they were not bamboo, Thought it was time to try something different. They are thicker than most bamboo spoons I've used, but after using them many times my opinion is they do a good job. The wood is not as smooth as I would like, But it may smooth out after alot of use.Update: It has been months since I purchased these spoons. They worked great and the wood has smoothed out very well with many washing's. Would recommend buying

The product is made from very flimsy plastic and is not a solid piece of construction, but, rather, must be put together like Leggos, making it even weaker. I paid $12.95 for a pair of these holders, so at least the price was competitive, but I'm afraid you get what you pay for. If I had to order again I would look for something else on Amazon that was a solid, one piece construction, or I would order from an art supply website or brick and mortar store.

Went looking for wooden spoons at Walmart and Target and while they carry them they are so big and chunky it's like they're made to stir a witches cauldron! I just wanted normal size wooden spoons and these fit the bill!If you're not looking for spoons as a prop for Macbeth, then give these spoons a try!

Do not be misled by the website description. Although the wood is of good quality (close-grained, unvarnished), the size is smaller than described. The entire spoon is 10 inches long, not the handle. The handle itself is 7 inches. If you are looking for a standard 12 to 13 inch wooden spoon, this is not it. The entire spoon basically disappears inside a large pot. Am returning mine.

Used two of these and put them in the dishwasher upper rack and when I unloaded the wash, they were covered in black spots. Returned them immediately.

I do a lot of cake smash photography and was looking for a smaller wooden spoon to let babies hold to smash the cake with, these were perfect.

They do the job I need them to do but wish they were less heavy, smoother and more refined like my old ones. They clean up well in my dishwasher.

Love that it is a solid wood and it is the length I was looking for. Sadly the wood is rough and unfinished.
