So sad
EDIT: I’m changing my rating from 1 star to 5. The company reached out to me and offered a replacement shipped directly from their warehouse. They also offered to send me a scent insert that will help with the smell, it lasts 3-4 bottles. If you are having a problem with the smell reach out to the company! I still give the supplement itself 5 stars. I found out I’m having twins so I’m super glad I switched to these from a gummy to give my babies and body the nutrients it needs. I haven’t had any problems with them making me nauseous. I’m now in my second trimester and the smell isn’t as bad.I give the supplement itself 5 stars, it has the amount of nutrients I was looking for. The quality control gets zero stars. A lot of the pills are poorly filled, I would say about half are only 3/4 full, the rest are either all the way full or less than half full. For $60 I expected better. The amount of pills doesn’t bother me. There are 8 in a serving because of the amount of nutrients in them. You can’t fit that amount into 1 pill so it won’t be a “one a day” type of prenatal. If you want to take less pills you will have to get a prenatal with less nutrients. The smell is pretty bad but so far I haven’t had a problem taking them. To me it smells like rotten protein powder or sometimes an old pee diaper.

Love the quality of these!!!
I feel so at ease taking needed. As an L&D nurse I’m big on quality and when I started comparing prenatals Needed really stood out, especially when it came to the dosage/percentage of each vitamin. It seemed significantly more substantial than others.I’m in my third trimester now and my pregnancy has been pretty great... Had minimal nausea, Plus my hair and skin look great. I’m thankful for a brand that follows the science and not just pretty packaging. Also, pills frequently get stuck in my throat and these have always been easy to swallow.

Great quality but the smell..
These vitamins are absolutely incredible in terms of what they have in them and their completeness for a prenatal. However, they actually make my morning sickness/nausea worse. I am trying to finish the bottle, but I literally have to plug my nose and have some kind of flavored drink with me in addition to bread in order to keep these down. The smell will linger in the room so I keep these sealed in a ziploc bag downstairs in the kitchen. My husband made a comment they were smelling up our bedroom!

Definitely worth it - Smell terrible.
Amazing quality prenatal, probably the most accurately dosed on the market. The smell is AWFUL though, I choke them down with orange juice. It’s worth it to me 🤷♀️

Hard to keep down due to taste or capsule
Smells so bad even with getting the scent insert. 8 capsules is not easy or reasonable for any daily dosage. I can not even keep down 2 pills I believe due to the capsule type. I have to empty into a shake to take them. Taste is still not good in the shake. Only using now in a shake because of the price and they are not returnable. Would not recommend.

Best prenatal on the market
I have been using these prenatals for almost 2 years during preconception. I love how complete they are in terms of dosage and that they use high quality ingredients. The serving size is 8 capsules which may seem like a lot, but I take 4 in the morning and 4 at night which works really well for me. They are a nice size and easy to swallow. The citrus scent is mild and makes them easy to take with little to no taste. My nails and hair grow faster than I ever noticed when taking other vitamins. I will definitely be repurchasing.

Inconsistent. Horrible smell.
The first container I purchased had no smell but it upset my stomach and gave me indigestion. I thought it was maybe just first trimester but I would feel pretty normal the days I didn't take them. I took half the dose inconsistently because of their side affects. When I used up the container I decided to reorder and give them another chance. The next container I got smelled so so rank and rancid me and my husband were gagging at the smell. I noticed they sent me the citrus scented ones and I thought that must be the problem. So I messaged the company and they sent me a new container. This time I opened the box the sealed container was in and the whole kitchen stunk. Before even opening the vitamins. Upon opening the vitamins the smell is so horrid and strong. I can only liken it to a zoo on a hot summer day. I have forced myself to go ahead and take them because I've been without for a couple weeks and then I noticed my pee smells the horrible way and is neon in color a couple hours after taking the vitamins. The company sent me three scented inserts to put into the container to mask the smell. Something that tells me they know how awful they smell and enough customers have complained about it if you have to make scented inserts. I've tried three times now to make these work for me but just going to switch to something else at this point.

Needed? More Like Essential.
The brand might be called Needed but I call this prenatal vitamin “essential” to any pregnancy. I started taking these on the recommendation of friends - they did not have to supplement this prenatal with a dozen other vitamins like so many other prenatals do (mainly due to lack of key supplements or amounts). Yes, 8 capsules per day is a mouthful (literally) but I had peace of mind my entire pregnancy that these vitamins were helping with fetal growth - mainly after my OBGYN reviewed the contents of turn jar, raised an eye brow and said “damn, this sounds actually good.” I’ll take it.So with they, I’ll flag the current make up as an essential for any future pregnancies. In regards to actual vitamin - it’s basically tasteless (just don’t bite into one), energy levels are the same (I didn’t feel a spike or dip) and the smell is negligible. Overall you pay for what you get - in this case, it’s quality bundled up in a large quantity of daily capsules.
