PenAgain
TWIST N' WRITE PENAGAIN CHILDRENS PENCILS, 4PK Bought this product for 7 year old nephew with ADHD. He loves his 'special' pencil, loves the colors, fits his small hands, never needs sharpening. Notice his penmanship has improved, getting work done quicker and finds excuses to use his pencil.Gave some to his SDC teacher, says she noticed difference also. With budget cuts to school system I will try to assist by keeping them supplied with this excellent tool since the price is right and it does help!I have raved about the PenAgain to everyone with children, his therapist even ordered some to see the benefits. This makes a excellent stocking stuffer, good with favor bags for parties, easter baskets, back-to-school supply kits, rewards, great trick-or-treat handouts, list is endless.Buy some, watch their eyes light up with the colors available, see how quickly they adapt to using the PenAgain and the improvement of their work. You will be as hooked as I am, best thing on the market!

Good aid for child gripping problems.
If you have a child with penmanship problems, these are definitely worth a try. The tripod type space resting on the index finger keeps the pencil in place and fluid without having to grip. You can even write without your thumb if your want. Writing problems can slow down children in math as they have to write out proofs and show their work. It's almost impossible to check your work when you can't read your own writing. Keyboarding math is still not very intuitive so pencils like these can help. Unfortunately these are too small for an adult sized hand, and eventually my hand started cramping from the excess curling to hold it. So with the design of these in mind, I took a wooden spring clothespin (poor man's chip clips in our house) and attached it to a pencil perpendicularly and it works great by the same principle and can be flipped to erase. I did the same to my favorite gel pens and works even better. Cheap and adjustable. These Twist and Writes are great for small hands.

These are pencils not pens
I hold my pens different than most people. Most people hold their pens wrong. But these are designed perfectly for the way I write. My only problem is they are pencils, not pens. I ordered them thinking they were pens and was sadly mistaken. The package says "pen again". So now I have to buy pens. But that's my fault for not reading it thouroghly. The second photo is how I write the third photo is how perfectly the a fit my hand. With arthritis in my hands these help so much. So yes I highly recommend them. But pay attention to what you want pens or pencils.

Genius product - Great for children with fine motor issues and/or sensory issues
We ordered these in our search for a writing tool for our 5 year old high functioning autisic son. He has trouble with his fine motor skill which are causing him to be delayed in "classroom milestones". We have tried various different products with no luck until now. These are super easy for him to use and remember how to hold! He also struggles with sensory issues and the eraser being a flat pad on the side of the rounded part makes it less of a distraction and harder for him to eat/bite. I ended up sending some to school. The special ed teachers love them so much that they ordered them for the classroom.I could see how these would also be handy for a senior citizen as well or someone with hand grasping issues. I find myself even using them.A truly genius idea that I would highly recommend not just for children with fine motor issues but as a great tool for teaching any child how to hold a pencil.Baumgartens 00071 Twist and Write Pencil, Assorted Color

a little disappointing
I have a problem with tendinitis and figured these would be perfect to help combat the pain I feel when I'm writing a lot. I've really only found a few issues with them that I figured was worth noting. The lead is rather hard, so it sometimes rips paper. While the style itself takes a little getting used to, I've found that it really makes it hard to maintain your handwriting. In other words, my writing is usually very neat and precise but, even after a lot of practice, it remains sloppy. There's not a ton of lead in the barrel, so if you do a lot of writing, it runs out rather quickly. The twisty thing you use to extract more lead is a little touchy if you're not careful. I guess for the price you can't complain too much, but I was expecting a little bit more from these and became a little disappointed with the results. It's an affordable option if you're looking to try something a little less hard on your hand, but don't expect your handwriting to be the same as with a regular pencil. It may be the only real option you have, The erasers on the handles work very well, however, which was an unexpected surprise. That part I did like.

Great pencils.. once you figure out how to fix/refill them
My lefty child loves these pencils but the lead runs out quickly. So I bought the four pack and a bunch of refill lead (also on Amazon). The four pack came where three of the pens worked properly but one, the lead would just slide out making it frustrating and functionally unusable. Here are the directions to fix lead that falls out:Position the pencil until the logo is facing down1) Pull the lead out2) Twist the tip of the pencil counter clockwise until it will not turn anymore3) Slide the lead back in. It should only be insertable for about 1/3 of the lead so 2/3 will stick out the top. If the lead falls all the way into the tip, repeat steps 1-34) Twist the tip clockwise now until the top of the lead fully retracts into the pencil5) Twist the tip counter clockwise to reveal the lead tip. It should be gripped in the pencil now
