The Tapo S200B Smart Button has been a great little addition to my smart home setup. It’s small, discreet, and really easy to set up using the Tapo app. I had it up and running in minutes and paired it with my Tapo smart plugs and lights without any issues.What I really like is the flexibility—you can assign different actions to single, double, or long presses. I’ve got mine set to control multiple lights with one tap, and it works perfectly every time. It’s ideal for guests or family members who don’t want to use voice commands or the app.Battery life so far has been great, and it’s nice that it uses a standard coin cell, so replacement will be easy. The adhesive and mounting options also mean you can place it anywhere that’s convenient.Overall, it’s a simple and affordable way to make your Tapo devices even more useful. Highly recommended if you already use the Tapo ecosystem!

Tapo nailed it the button.I've tried so many different smart switches, needed something to work with alexa routines and home assistant but all have been tricky to set up and unreliable. something that should be so easy so many smart home companies got it wrong.Tapo have created a product that is reasonably priced , stylish , easy to set up, rotate , click and double click functions , reliable and works with alexa and home assistant. these will be my go to smart switches.well done tapo.

As the title suggests, my experience with this smart switch has been excellent, it is lightweight, portable and has excellent features.Because it connects over wifi, it can be taken and used anywhere in your house with wifi coverage.If you don't have kids or your kids are 15+ the these smart switch's are perfect for upgrading your house to smart devices.My personal setup is tapo smart dimmable bulbs and this button and it works flawlessly.There's a second or two of delay between pressing the button and the light turning on, but I've actually come to appreciate this feature as it allows me to get further before the light goes out 😂Appearance : Small round white button with rotary function for dimming smart bulbs.Houses with kids under 15:If you have kids that are under 15,heavy handed, get up regularly throughout the night or have anger issues then this is not the button for youKids generally don't care about application of force on light switches and the like, so this button got damaged very quickly between my stepsons anger issues and his nephews autism(liked to play with the button, spamming it hard). The button sometimes doesn't register button presses but instead registers it as rotary button presses, which can be an issue as you recieve complaint that the light isn't working.If you want a more durable switch try the tp link tapo smart switches, they run on batteries and works with all wiring configurations.Rating for childless houses : 5/5Rating for houses with kids : 4/5Value for money - childless houses : 5/5Value for money - houses with kids 3.5/5

The Tapo Smart Button is a brilliant little device! It makes controlling my lights so much easier—no need to pull out my phone or shout at Alexa. I love that I can customise it with single, double, or long presses to trigger different actions. Setup was quick using the Tapo app, and it's been really reliable. It’s compact, responsive, and perfect for placing anywhere in the house. A great smart home addition that just works!

Works with Alexa better if you have one of the cheap hubs so you can map the buttons better have been looking for a while for a cheap button that fully works with Alexa there’s not many out there

These are inexpensive, well made and quite attractive devices that work well for the most part, but there is an additional initial cost because you must also buy a hub, although this is a once-ever purchase.Setup was straightforward and I was able to easily control some TP-Link Tapo lightbulbs.So far, so good - but any potential purchaser needs to consider a few drawbacks. The most significant of these is that they must have an internet connection to work, despite using their own RF wireless connectivity that works independently of your home wifi. This means that these switches don't work if your internet is down, although you can always revert to using your original dumb light switch as you did in the old pre-smart days.I installed this setup for a disabled friend as it seemed a no-brainer solution to his mobility problems - he is wheelchair/bed-bound. All was well until he suffered a couple of brief power cuts which disabled the TP-Link hardware and I had to visit to reset and relink everything again - this means that resilience isn't a strong feature. This wouldn't matter to me, but it was a real problem for my friend who had no chance of repairing his setup.I bought the buttons with the TP-Link wall-mounting plates that the buttons fix to by magnetism. This seems like a good idea, but this magnetic link can fail - if the button slides diagonally, which it can easily do, especially if the user is elderly or clumsy, the button will just fall off the plate. I had to fashion a homemade retaining border to prevent the button from sliding around. To clarify, sliding the button vertically or horizontally causes a fairly strong self-centering effect because of the way the magnetic fields interact, but diagonal movement can nullify this action as it causes the fields to be misaligned. This is not an issue if the user is careful and able-bodied.And finally, access to the battery compartment is via a fiddly cover on the rear of the switch. This means that you can't really mount it, other than by magnetism - this might be an issue for some.I hope that this review is helpful to some potential users.
