Solid fan for pool heater DIY repair
I purchased this fan for a DIY repair to a Laars 400LX pool heater. The heater unit and blower assembly are discontinued so I bought this to replace the 15 year old blower fan when it disintegrated. I had to grind down the blower motor shaft for the smaller diameter of the fan's inner hole, and had to trim some sheet metal from the deflector inside the heater's chimney assembly. But with some careful adjustment and tuning I was able to install this in the pool heater, thus saving myself $4000+ for a new heater.The fan construction quality is very good. The center bushing is too small to drill out for a 3/8" shaft, so I had to modify the motor shaft instead.
