Good if you like historical text and detailed engineering text.
After reading great reviews, I was looking forward to an adventure like Sanderson, Feist, or Hickman. This reads closer to a history text, especially book one. The characters, plot, and setting are very scattered in the first book too. The chapters jump from different times and places in a rough read. I only finished the four books because my son said what great reviews he had read. I thought it would be worth finishing the story. It wasn’t. I respect the work, so I gave it three stars. The steampunk aspect was detailed pages of the engineering aspects. Disappointing. Definitely could have been condensed.
