Great product!
We have been using this product for 4 years now every day in my pups food as the pet store said it was very good for keeping his teeth clean in addition to the micro nutrients it provides. His Vet always comments how clean his teeth are (we don't brush). We are going to start brushing, at least occasionally, as I didn't realize we should be doing this, now that he's getting older. I don't know if it has a taste to it, my pup has never refused food it was sprinkled on but I imagine it has a slight fishy taste to it. Has no smell to me anyway.

Great value & healthy + Similar to PlaqueOff
I bought this for: 1) Dental Hygiene 2) General Health 3) Prevent stool eating (from mineral deficiencies)ProDen PlaqueOff used to list its main ingredient (Ascophyllum Nodosum) before they rebranded and hid the ingredient name to PlaqueOff. This product is similar, if not exactly the same, as PlaqueOff for a FRACTION of the price. This product might actually be superior in quality since this is USDA certified organic and packaged in the USA. I also tasted this, and it seems to be human-grade quality. You can get human kelp for cheaper, but having a guaranteed analysis was important to me.I give my dog half of the recommended amount because I am extra cautious. Kelp contains iodine (which is good for health), but too much can potentially lead to thyroid issues. I purchased this 10 months ago, and I still have about 1/3 left. This definitely helped reduce inflammation and redness in gums, but for plaque and tartar you have to put in some work for best results. Don't expect immediate results- the kelp needs to be absorbed into the body for weeks/months, and then the body slowly produces a reaction to soften & breakdown the tartar/plaque so that it can be brushed off.Folks, dental health is SO IMPORTANT. It can add or remove years of your pet's life. Even if your pet's teeth are clean on the surface thanks to products like this, you still need to brush your pet's teeth and get dental cleanings because dental infections are in the roots (not visible) & pets are good at hiding pain. Infections can go down the bloodstream to slowly damage the heart and organs. Nothing on the market beats dental cleanings, and non-anesthetic dental cleanings aren't effective since vets can't clean under the teeth. My 10 year old dog with elevated liver values had a dental cleaning (after clean bloodwork), and even with regular brushing and daily dental chews, she had to get 2 teeth extracted. I bought this product to try and prolong the dental cleaning effects, and it seems to be slowing down the formation of tartar.

Cat indigestion and gingivitis
I've been using this for over a year (1/2 scoop per cat/per day) and I don't notice a difference BUT I think that means it's helping to maintain their "normal" health.HEAR ME OUT: I have one cat with a very sensitive stomach and one cat who developed gingivitis at 4 months and is still battling it today. Though this seaweed is an addition to their regiment, so I can't say it's the only thing that helped, BUT both have fewer problems coming out of both ends. I know it MIGHT help with their coats and gums too but it probably varies with cat/diet as one of my cats still struggles with dandruff and (I suspect) the other one might have internal issues with plaque/gingivitis so they're still struggling with those issues.Of course, this isn't some magic seaweed and a cure-all solution. I think it's definitely worth a try. Plus, the quality of the seaweed seems great (no discoloration, bugs, or unknown growth even after daily opening of jar, no strong smell), I have more than 1/2 a jar left, and my picky cats eat their food with this mixed in no problem.

Great supplement!
Used on our tiny dogs (Bichons & t-cup Hybrid Maltese) for years. I regret not continue on when the last jar was used up about 1.5 to 2 years ago. Our seniors' teeth and breath had gotten so bad, can't get expensive dental cleaning at the vet anymore due to thier old age. You still have to brush your dogs' teeth and give oral chews and the price went up but it lasts for a long time. I don't expect to see thier teeth cleaner/whiter but if it helps improve their breath even a little, I'll be so happy. It's a good addition for their health.

My picky dog likes it
I can’t say if it works or not but I was seriously afraid that my picky yorkie wasn’t going to like it and I was really impressed when he ate his barf without even smelling it…I’ll probably update this after a few weeks or a month using it!

Removes plaque!!
My 12 year old Bassett hound Rosy, had heavy plaque that could not be removed with a toothbrush, so I started adding this to her food daily…and after a month or so, her plaque became much less noticeable and gums much less red! Very pleased I found a natural way to remove the plaque that did not involve questionable chemicals or a visit to the vet. They say it doesn’t work for every dog, but it’s definitely worth a try, since putting an old dog under anesthesia is very risky indeed!
